moving forward, running

Throw back Thursday.

I miss being this kind of runner. I was not only a runner, but a pace group leader. That’s me on the far left. Goal this year is to get back to this place.

How do you make a comeback from a setback!?

Cheers

Wednesday’s quick workout.

Happy Wednesday, my friends. I hope you all had a fantastic day! Just over a two mile run, and a good plank will finish up my day. It wasn’t a pretty run, but I ran intervals between 5.4-5.8 on the treadmill-averaging around 5.4-5.5. Building up that baseline, slowly but surely.
How was your day? #wednesday #running

Cheers,

Michelle

Throwback Thursday

I started long distance running back in 2007, but have been running since my track days in junior high and high school – 35 plus years. Running has always been my therapy, so the lack of running has started to affect my mental and physical health here lately. I’ve been fighting some demons I thought I let go for some reason, so wanted to share a throwback picture of one of my strongest half marathons in Chicago IL, 9 years ago.

I miss feeling this strong-and pray I can get back to this place someday. Can anyone relate?

Cheers,

Michelle

Racing well wishes!

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. It’s been a year since I’ve done a half marathon and 5 years since I’ve done a full…but this quote was always something that hit home with me so I wanted to share it! Cheers and good luck!!

What’s your favorite distance to run? Are you racing this weekend?

Cheers!

Thursday thoughts!!

One thing I’ll say about Florida, is that the weather here has really slowed me down. When it’s humid like it was today, I find myself taking a lot more walk breaks than I ever would. But as I found myself getting frustrated, I reminded myself that so many can’t even run a single mile anymore, and that I should be thankful for each step I take. So my new thought process is, “I no longer care about the pace I run, as long as I’m getting it done.” I’ll forever be thankful for the supplements I take, Novo Renew, that have afforded me the ability to keep moving. Good thing for you Gasparilla runners this weekend:we’ve got a cold front coming through this weekend!!! Let me know if you’re running!!! I’ll cheer you on!

Are you currently training for anything? What is your favorite distance to run? Do you notice yourself slowing down as you age (or is it just me, haha!)?

Cheers!

Michelle

TBT

My #tbt goes back to 2013 when I crushed my goals for my second marathon. My first marathon was in 2012 and my knee gave up at mile 17 but I didn’t quit…I finished in 5:23. One year later and a lot of determination landed me with my current marathon PR of 4:25, and I even negative split the race meaning I ran the second half faster than the first half. It was one of my proudest moments and this picture captures the sheer happiness running brings to my life. (And I still wear that exact same visor…LOL! I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen apart!)

Thanks to Novo Renew I have hopes that one day I just may run another full marathon!!! Check HERE to learn more and use my code Michelle25 at check out to save.

Have you ever ran a full marathon? Do you have aching/sore joints and muscles? Remember, these supplements aren’t just for runners!!!

Tuesday Triumphs and talks

I tell ya what…I was a little nervous about tonight’s run. It was a sunny 80 degree evening and I’d eaten dinner just 30 minutes before heading out. The first mile my legs were pretty heavy but then magic happened and I felt great. The heat and sun made it harder but I wouldn’t have traded a single mile. I also hit my fastest mile this year of 9:32!! Two months ago I never would’ve thought I could run like this again. I definitely give a lot of credit to Novorenew for this. My joints have never felt better and my recovery time is cut in half. Click HERE and use Michelle25 to save 25% off of your order.

I even managed to negative split my run, and had a car not flown past me that last .1 was at 8:55!! Keep in mind my short runs from back in 2015 were always 9:00-9:30 so this is a huge victory. I finally am starting to feel like my old self again, and I am so thankful for Novo Renew and its amazing all natural effects its given me not only for joint relief but quicker recovery. Why do you run? What’s your favorite distance? Happy Tuesday!

Pi day miles

Woohoo it’s Friday eve! Thank goodness because my patience is wearing a little thin this week. My goal was to get 3.14 miles in for “Pi day” or is it “Pie” day? LOL, I have heard discussions of both on the talk show listen to on my way home, so I suppose why not celebrate both?!?

Unfortunately the temps got the best of me, and I was trying to push my speed a little since my knees are feeling so great since taking Novo Renew (<–check out the link). I ran the first mile in around 10:30 and the second mile in 10:14 (mind you it was a real feel of 88 degrees outside) and I could feel the sun beating down on me and decided I would cut it short by a mile. Let me tell you what, my knees really didn’t hurt at all. Sure, a little wiggle here and there, but heck I’ve been running for 30 years so that’s expected!

How was your day? Did you celebrate with Pie, or some Pi miles? Interested in learning more about an all natural way for pain relief in your knees/joints? Click HERE!!

Half marathon training, week 9 long run

Despite not sleeping well last night, I knew I needed to get my long run done for the 9th week of training as I didn’t get it done over the weekend due to being stuck inside on a very rainy Sunday.

Once I got home from work I immediately changed clothes and headed out for my neighborhood loop/running trails. My plan called for a 10k race pace but I had planned to go a little farther to make up the 3 weeks of training I missed due to bronchitis. (That nasty cough is still lingering but getting a little better every day). The first mile felt surprisingly well, and I couldn’t believe I actually had a 10 mm in the mix, as well as I kept under an 11 mm pace for the entire 6.5 miles. Over all I was thrilled with this run.

Not to shabby for this rusty runner

Splits! Check out that 10 mm!

My cheerleader!

Today’s thankful 5:

  1. Easy commutes. Today’s commute both to and from work were surprisingly quick with no traffic, accidents, or crazy people that haven’t had enough coffee yet.
  2. Smooth days at work. Today was one of the first “good” work days I’ve had this year, and man did I need it.
  3. Left overs. I baked a big batch of chicken thighs yesterday, so all I had to do for dinner was heat them up along with a bag of steamed cauliflower rice.
  4. My daughter being so excited about trying out for her school’s play. We reciting her audition lines about two dozen times tonight, and I pray she gets the part.
  5. Good runs. Man did I ever need tonight’s run. My right knee has always been my bad knee, ever since I popped it back in high school track. And it sure hasn’t been happy with me this month. I just ordered some new knee braces off Amazon.

This brace got me through 3 full marathons! Got two, one for each knee!

How is your commute to work? What’s your favorite thing to have for leftovers? Get any mileage in today?

Cheers!
