Welcome!!!

Welcome to all of the new followers!! I am so happy to have you join us on this adventure we call life. I started this page (can you believe) 10 years ago as I transitioned from 20 years of active duty in the military, to civilian life. As a form of therapy, I started long distance running, cooking and writing. All of that resulted in this page, as I found such joy in touching other’s lives. As with all of us that age, my days of long-distance running have slowed down, and I do a lot more walking than running, but that’s ok because I am still Movin’. I still love to write, and cook, and love sending out positive vibes.

I’d love to hear about you and your journey!!

Again, my heartfelt welcome!!! ❤

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday!!! I honestly could’ve have come up with an excuse not to workout today. But decided to take my own advice from this morning and get it done. 2 mile progressive run (increased speed as I went, keeping it at a pace I could keep a good heart rate) and a .5 mile cooldown walk. Felt good to actually be running despite how much I don’t like the treadmill lol.

Monday motivation

I won’t lie. I feel like I am back to square one, or even a little further back since getting sick two months ago. I don’t ever recall running a short run at a 12mm+ pace. And every time I had to walk, it set me back a little further mentally.
But I’m not getting any younger, and I’m at least out there moving. That counts for something, right?!
Happy Monday, my friends. Thanks for always motivating me to get out and move.

Tuesday’s short run!!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!! I hope you’re all having a fantastic day!! My daughter arrives tonight, so I decided to get a workout in before we pick her up.
It’s been so darn hot here in FL, so when the temps dropped to 82/real feel of 89-I knew I needed to get outside. See, for me running just isn’t about fitness, it’s my therapy of sorts and has been most of my life. I only had 35-40 minutes so I ran one mile, and walked/ran the second mile. Yay for my first time running outside in ages. It felt great despite the temps.
How was your day?! I’d love to hear about it.

Cheers!

Monday motivation

Happy Monday!!! I’ll be real, today’s workout was a struggle. Consistency hasn’t been my strong suit the last couple of months, but to be honest I’m totally ok with that fact because we’ve made some amazing memories.
My oldest daughter was here the end of May, we had friends visiting a couple weeks ago, it was my husbands birthday last weekend (and yes, we celebrate ALL weekend-would be all month if it were up to him lol) annnd my daughter comes back to visit TOMORROW!!! So I made sure despite the struggle to make time to workout.
120 sit-ups, 60 side bends each side, glutes, run/walk and my daily plank.
How was your day?! I’d love to hear about it. 👊🏻😘

Cheers!!

Productive Sunday

We had rain in the forecast today, so we decided to get up and get some errands done. We went to our favorite pub called the Fat Rabbit for lunch, and stopped in at my favorite consignment shop. There was a pair of sandals I’ve been eyeballing and they were still there so I got them!!

We went to the local running store and all got new shoes, and went to Sprouts for some produce.

The sun finally came out so we finished the day at the pool.

Why do the weekends go by so fast? How was your weekend?

Cheers,

Michelle
