Thursday thoughts!!

One thing I’ll say about Florida, is that the weather here has really slowed me down. When it’s humid like it was today, I find myself taking a lot more walk breaks than I ever would. But as I found myself getting frustrated, I reminded myself that so many can’t even run a single mile anymore, and that I should be thankful for each step I take. So my new thought process is, “I no longer care about the pace I run, as long as I’m getting it done.” I’ll forever be thankful for the supplements I take, Novo Renew, that have afforded me the ability to keep moving. Good thing for you Gasparilla runners this weekend:we’ve got a cold front coming through this weekend!!! Let me know if you’re running!!! I’ll cheer you on!

Are you currently training for anything? What is your favorite distance to run? Do you notice yourself slowing down as you age (or is it just me, haha!)?

Cheers!

Still Movin’

Hey gang!!

I’m happy to say that I’ve been doing well with both my exercise, and eating over the last two weeks. Previously I spoke about refocusing for the summer and I feel like I am doing a decent job. While it’s been too darn hot outside to run, (temps in the high 90’s with a gazillion % humidity and real feel temps of the 105’s), I’ve done T25 work out videos twice this week, and have been great about doing my planks/core work outs as well. I even did the T25 lower body workout yesterday, and I can’t help but to give credit to Novo Renew and the amazing all natural ingredients it contains to help muscle recovery and joint health. Six months ago, I would have never attempted lunges or squats!! Click the link to try it out, and use my code Michelle25 at checkout to save…buy two bottles and shipping is FREE!

My new job is going well so far! I had zero training, so every day is a new adventure. My biggest struggle has been that I am not used to a “desk” job, so getting my steps in every day is a struggle for the first time since I can remember. I’ve been short a couple thousand most days, so I need to work on that issue. But, I have been getting GREAT compliments on my Stitch Fix tops that I got last week, so I am already looking forward to next month’s fix!!! Click the link to check it out!!! You won’t be sorry – they’ve got such cute items tailored just for you!!

Lastly, I am still struggling with the loss of my pup, Sammy, 13 weeks ago. I think this week is extra hard as my husband is gone for Army training…:(

Monday Runday

With storms looming I knew I needed to get this done despite 87 degree temps and strong winds. The first mile was easy, the last two not so much. My breathing was the only thing I struggled with, thankfully. I’ve got happy IT bands and knees thanks to @novorenew finally. If you like to give it a try by clicking HERE Use Michelle25 at checkout to save 25% off your order. What are you waiting for? This stuff is amazing!!!

For dinner I made a simple skirt steak seasoned with low sodium taco seasoning and salt and pepper over a cabbage salad with blue cheese dressing.

How was your Monday? Did you work out? What’s on your dinner plate?

Cheers!

TBT

My #tbt goes back to 2013 when I crushed my goals for my second marathon. My first marathon was in 2012 and my knee gave up at mile 17 but I didn’t quit…I finished in 5:23. One year later and a lot of determination landed me with my current marathon PR of 4:25, and I even negative split the race meaning I ran the second half faster than the first half. It was one of my proudest moments and this picture captures the sheer happiness running brings to my life. (And I still wear that exact same visor…LOL! I’m surprised it hasn’t fallen apart!)

Thanks to Novo Renew I have hopes that one day I just may run another full marathon!!! Check HERE to learn more and use my code Michelle25 at check out to save.

Have you ever ran a full marathon? Do you have aching/sore joints and muscles? Remember, these supplements aren’t just for runners!!!

I’m a believer!!!

Yup it was a little windy for this one!!! Almost 20 mph winds weren’t going to stop me. Those of you that have followed me for a while know that I never do run streaks or run two days in a row. But my knees have felt so good from taking Novo Renew that I thought I’d give it a try since I know my schedule won’t permit a run tomorrow. Well, would you look at those splits!?! And that’s the fastest mile I’ve ran in years!!! If you’re interested in happy joints and muscle recovery click THIS LINK and use Michelle25 at check out to save. I’m a believer!!!

What is your fastest mile? Mine was in the 7’s back in my younger days, but haven’t seen those numbers in decades. I am please when I can stay in the low 9’s/high 8’s.

Cheers!

Pi day miles

Woohoo it’s Friday eve! Thank goodness because my patience is wearing a little thin this week. My goal was to get 3.14 miles in for “Pi day” or is it “Pie” day? LOL, I have heard discussions of both on the talk show listen to on my way home, so I suppose why not celebrate both?!?

Unfortunately the temps got the best of me, and I was trying to push my speed a little since my knees are feeling so great since taking Novo Renew (<–check out the link). I ran the first mile in around 10:30 and the second mile in 10:14 (mind you it was a real feel of 88 degrees outside) and I could feel the sun beating down on me and decided I would cut it short by a mile. Let me tell you what, my knees really didn’t hurt at all. Sure, a little wiggle here and there, but heck I’ve been running for 30 years so that’s expected!

How was your day? Did you celebrate with Pie, or some Pi miles? Interested in learning more about an all natural way for pain relief in your knees/joints? Click HERE!!

Kick the habit!!!

Kick the Ibuprofen Habit

They’re in every medicine cabinet, the go-to for almost any ache or pain. They’re NSAIDs

(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen. The good news is they work. The

bad news? NSAID side effects can include an increase in high blood pressure, kidney

damage, and severe gastrointestinal problems.

Overuse

These problems tend to happen with long-term or heavy use. The occasional ibuprofen

for a headache, sore joints, or other aches and pains is OK. But for runners, it’s easy to

rely too heavily on them.

Use Novo Renew for inflammation

Novo Renew uses an all-natural joint comfort blend of eight, restorative ingredients to:

1) Help your body maintain its normal inflammation response, so it can heal naturally.

2) Give your body the building blocks it needs to begin restoring damaged cells.

3) Flushes free radicals that result from metabolic waste out of your system.

Helping healthy people maintain a normal, balanced inflammatory response is one key to long term joint health. Rather than relying on NSAIDs, heal naturally with Novo Renew.

half marathon training, knee pain, moving forward

Gasparilla half marathon, 2019

My husband I decided shortly after running the Disney wine and dine half marathon that we wanted to run another half. We hadn’t properly trained for that half due to good old general life, so we thought, “Let’s do it right this time.” We signed up for the Gasparilla half marathon and started training shortly there after. I had a good 6 or 7 weeks of training until NYE came, and I came down with a 5 week case of bronchitis. I only made it to a 9 mile long run, and I was nervous going in to this race.

We went out to eat with some of our neighborhood runners last night, and after several hiccups in the evening, we didn’t get home until 10 PM. Not ideal when we still had to finish laying our stuff out for the race, AND we had a 3:30 wake up call this morning.

But, we got our outfits laid out, and the morning went off without a hitch. I took my Novorenew (get yours by using discount code of Michelle25 at check out; click link) which I’ve found to help my knee and joint pain tremendously since I’ve started taking it!!! I highly recommend it. We arrived at the convention center within 45 minutes, and had plenty of time to park, apply sunscreen, and do last minute adjustments before meeting up with our neighbors who were also running the race.

Our sub-2 neighbors took off for their corral, and we went to ours to line up to start. I had already given my blessing to my husband to run his own race, so shortly after the start gun went off an we made it about a quarter of a mile in, and he smiled and waved and I was running my own race.

I’ve gone back and forth with solo running, sometimes loving it, and sometimes hating it because I get stuck inside my own head when I am alone, and every now and then I can’t get unstuck. Today, thankfully, wasn’t that day. While I am not the runner I once was, and running in Florida heat is rough, I know eventually I’ll get my speed back.

The race was well organized, had some great spots for spectators, and I even got the high five Meb at around the 8 mile mark, as well as getting a photo with him at the end. Official finish time was 2:31 which is far from my best, but definitely not my worst.

Here’s some photos from the day!!

How was your weekend? Do you have any joint or knee problems? Please click the link above if you do! This stuff is life changing. What’s your favorite distance to run?

Cheers and keep movin’ forward!!

Michelle.
