Weekly wrap 5/16/16-5/22/16 and friends

While I didn’t get a whole lot of running in due to tweaking my knee early in the week, I am happy to report I managed to maintain my plank-a-day challenge, and finished up strong with a 4 minute plank tonight.  YAY!!!

I was supposed to be running a marathon today, if you remember I signed up for a full last fall before we knew my husband was deploying.  It stung just a touch seeing everyone post up their pictures today, but I had to remind myself that my time will come and that right now I am doing my best with my situation.

So here’s my week in pictures, with 2 very amazing friends, and lots of planking, LOL!

My friend Janel and I at dinner Monday night. Love the fact that she won’t let me hole up in my house!
5.22.2
Tuesday’s workout left me with a wonky knee for several days so decided to rest for a few days!

One of my favorite pics. Ever.

Wednesday was arms and planks!

Thursday didn’t have a lot of time, but managed to get my plank done!

Friday night before going out with my friend Andrea (from the poster above)

This amazing woman has texted me daily for the last 11 weeks, even if it’s just NNT (night night termite, LOL)

Got a selfie from the husband Saturday! SOOO nice to see his face!

Saturday we had a beautiful day so I planked outside, notice my photo bomber?

Sunday’s plank and yummy “taco salad” after a wonderful day in the sun!

My last load of laundry is in the dryer, and I am ready to retire on the couch.  I am linking up with Tricia and Holly for the weekly wrap!

How was your week?  Are you still planking with us?  Here’s to almost 3 months of my husband’s deployment under our belts, and to a new week.  Tomorrow I will be honored to see my daughter perform her poem about deployment and military families.  Be sure to check it out if you missed it the other day!!

Have a great week, y’all!

Cheers,

Michelle

  2. Your little photo bomber is adorable. Great job on all the planking! I had to “rest up” for several days to get my 4 minutes. LOL. Your friends are the best support system you can have. I’m glad you could spend time with both of these wonderful ladies. I bet the selfie was just the best surprise for you! I hope you knee is better now. Thanks for linking with us Michelle.

  3. Sorry about the knee & the marathon–there will be others but it’s still hard!

Good for your friends for keeping you getting out.

I can’t even imagine a 4 minute plank. I plank a lot, but not for that long! You look great, btw.

      1. Iron Strength does something like that at the end of the DVD (not at the beginning, dammit!) — 1 minute each side & 1 minute in the middle. I don’t always make it the full minute, but sometimes I do, so I guess I’ve done 3 minutes. I didn’t think of it that.way.

  4. You’ve got some serious guns and you did a great job with all of those planks…4 minutes is awesome, I think I can barely get to 2 minutes at this point, lol!

  5. Michelle, you are RIPPED. Look at your arms, shoulders, and back! Ain’t nobody gonna mess with you with those guns of yours. =) Congratulations on your 4-minute planks – that is an ENORMOUS accomplishment. I’m with Janelle, I am thrilled when I get beyond 2 minutes. Your photos are adorable, as always. Cheers to almost 3 months of deployment already gone by! Can’t wait to hear more details about your daughter’s poetry performance!

  6. Sorry about your marathon. That was so sweet of your friends to help you take your mind off things. Awesome job with your planks! I just snuck over to read your daughter’s poem. It’s beautiful and heart felt. She is an incredibly talented writer. You must be proud!
