What do you take for pain relief? Interested in something all natural?
Gosh I’ve been so busy I’ve not had time to write, or read many posts over the last several days. My weekend was cram packed full of fun which always makes for good memories.
My friend that took me in when I moved here (one of my dearest Air Force friends whom I love dearly) got tickets for me and herself along with her Mom and sister to see Blake Shelton. She surprised me back in January for my birthday gift and we had a complete blast. She believes in making memories for gifts vs. buying an actual gift which I completely love. She and I headed down to down town Tampa and had dinner at Sparkman’s Warf. It’s a new outdoor food court for lack of better description but that has yummy “elevated” food. After dinner we met her Mom and sister at the concert and we had such a great evening. Here are a few photos:
Saturday my daughter had her “belt promotion” ceremony for Jujitsu and Muay Tai, and wouldn’t you have it, who got promoted to yellow belt after just four months of training? Yup, that’s my girl. It’s so amazing to watch her train. She simply glows, and has gained so much confidence. I LOVE it.
Sunday was a much needed retreat to the beach for the day. We relaxed in the sun, and although the water was too cold for my liking, my husband and daughter had a blast playing around in the water while I napped and searched for seashells (not at the same time, LOL).
Today I have vowed to get back into routine workouts. I have both a core (SworkIt) app and a Yoga app so I have no excuse. Tonight I did a 10 minute core workout and an 8 minute Yoga workout after work, and it felt great. I am also shooting for at least 2 runs per week. My goal is a minimum of 3-4 workouts each week.
I’m also happy to report that my back and knees are singing since taking Novo Renew.
(<—Affiliate link) I have even noticed a difference in the smoothness of my skin due to the collagen component of this amazing supplement. I hope you will all give this a try, and make sure to use Michelle25 at check out to save 25% off of your order. There is a 30 day money back guarantee, so I urge you to give it a try for your ailments. My joints, knees, and shoulders as well as my neck have felt tremendously better.
How was your weekend? Is the weather getting any better where you live? Have you considered trying an all natural alternative to NSAIDs?

Seven facts about me:
I was born over 2 months prematurely. My due date was in March sometime, and I was born January 17th. I was only 2 lbs, and was a born fighter, and still am to this day.
I can’t stand water in my ears after showering. I HAVE to gently clean the water out with Q-tips.
My dream jobs include Air Traffic Controller (tried while I was in the Air Force but couldn’t pass the depth perception tests as I had to have muscle transplants in my eyes due to being so small-refer to number one), Chef, writer, or professional beach goer…but since that didn’t work out, I do those things as hobbies.
I was once struck by lightening…well, the bolt hit about 6 inches from my leg, and I “bolted (see what I did there LOL)” straight up into bed. The current traveled through my BOOM box (aged myself there) speaker, shot the cassette tape across the room, through the other detached speaker and blew the cord right out of the socket. Insurance adjuster advised we go to church…straight to church, and thank God immediately that I was still alive.
I can only drink coffee if its doctored up with cream, sugar, and syrups. So basically I don’t drink coffee. I have on small cup of green tea each morning and that’s all the caffeine I have all day.
I tried out for (without success) for the TV show “Master Chef” back in 2014 and it was the (read about it here) probably one of the coolest and bravest things I’ve done second to joining the Air Force as a 17 year old (left for basic as an 18 year old 3 1/2 weeks after high school graduation) and relocating my entire family a year and a half ago to Florida simply because we wanted a better quality of life. Wait, that was two additional facts, LOL. OOPS.
There are very few foods I don’t like. But the list is quite specific: Lima beans, water chestnuts, raw coconut and bananas. Why? TEXTURE!!!
I hope you enjoy these wonderful blogs!!! Most of these I have followed for quite some time, but a few are new ones that I’ve grown to love! Also, I hope the nominees have time to play along! 🙂
I decided to be smart and take a week off after running the Gasparilla half marathon the last weekend of February (click the link to read my recap), which turned out to be a week AND a half off since I was still recovering from this past weekend. Keep reading and you’ll understand why…
Saturday night my hubby and I escaped away to Orlando for the evening to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary (which was back in November but he was traveling for work and we never got around to celebrating). Since we had Hilton Honor points and our daughter was spending the night at a friend’s house, we thought, why not? We had a blasssst. We ate a place called The Flying Fish (the food and service was truly amazing. Freshly caught fish being cooked in an open kitchen made it quite the experience), and then hit up Disney Springs for some drinks and dancing. It felt so good to be US for 24 hours without any of the stressors in life (we won’t talk about the $1800 estimate I got on repairs for my 8 year old Jeep Saturday morning…we decided to NOT talk about it all weekend, and we’ll worry about that Friday morning when I drop it off, LOL).

We got home from Orlando in enough time for me to unpack and change clothes to go see the P!NK concert with my good friend Kandice. We got the tickets last fall and have been counting down the days until the concert. I have loved P!NK since the 90’s so this was definitely a bucket list item checked off!!!
SOOO I was going to run yesterday after work but MAN was it cold and dreary here in sunny Florida so I decided to put it off until today. I am so glad I did, because despite the strong winds, the temps were in the low 60’s and the sun was SHINING bright. I was able to maintain an average of a 10:16 pace and even hit in the 9’s during the 3rd mile. What’s even better, I was able to run all three miles PAIN FREE thanks to Novo Renew (affiliate link) which has drastically helped my knees and joints. They’re in every medicine cabinet, the go-to for almost any ache or pain. They’re NSAIDs
(non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen. The good news is they work. The
bad news? NSAID side effects can include an increase in high blood pressure, kidney
damage, and severe gastrointestinal problems.
Overuse
These problems tend to happen with long-term or heavy use. The occasional ibuprofen
for a headache, sore joints, or other aches and pains is OK. But for runners, it’s easy to
rely too heavily on them.
Use Novo Renew for inflammation
Novo Renew uses an all-natural joint comfort blend of eight, restorative ingredients to:
1) Help your body maintain its normal inflammation response, so it can heal naturally.
2) Give your body the building blocks it needs to begin restoring damaged cells.
3) Flushes free radicals that result from metabolic waste out of your system.
Helping healthy people maintain a normal, balanced inflammatory response is one key to long term joint health. Rather than relying on NSAIDs, heal naturally with Novo Renew.

How do you run so much? Don’t your knees hurt? Isn’t running bad for your knees?? These are several questions I get asked daily, so here’s my story!
I started running back in junior high school as a way to try and be involved and get to know people and continued running throughout my high school years. While serving in the Air Force I also ran as part of the physical requirements needed, but also as a way to remain fit. I’ve always loved running, but little did I know, running would truly save my life as I learned back in 2007. I had suffered severely from postpartum depression, and after having some career setbacks that year along with losing my fraternal Grandfather, I KNEW I needed to get my mind right. I was talking with a friend in mid-September, and on a whim we decided to run the Rock and Roll half marathon in San Antonio, TX. I had less than 8 weeks to train and I gave it everything I had. I would run in the evenings after work, and my training plan was mapped out on a simple note pad. I tracked my mileage map by driving the route and annotating the mile markers on my plan. I had a simple Timex watch that tracked my time per mile which I had to track with pen and paper when I got home from my run. There were no fancy GPS watches or gels, it was just me, my IPod, some water, and my worn out Nike shoes. I ran that first half marathon in 2:19, and I can say it was a defining moment in my life. Finally I had a release to the stress and sadness, finally I felt like me again.
Fast forward 12 years, and I’ve now ran 3 full marathons (PR is 4:25) and 17 half marathons (PR is 2:00:11). Running is a NEED in my life, no longer a simple past time. As you can imagine, 30+ years of running has taken it’s toll on my knees. This last couple of years especially. I have tried all the glucosamine supplements, NSAIDS, and everything in between with no relief. I had honestly contemplated giving up distance running which just the thought of it broke my heart. So when Tad from NOVO Renew reached out to me, asking if I wanted to try his all natural supplements for pain relief and anti-inflammatory issues, I thought, “Why not?”
So here I am just a couple of weeks later, and I can already feel a difference. My knees don’t constantly hurt, and I am able to walk/run pain free!!! Does story resonate with you at all? Are you interested in getting rid of all the Ibuprofen out of your medicine cabinet AND your body? Then please, click HERE to try this amazing product out. A few weeks ago I was contacted by a company to try out their product that was not only all natural, but good for anti-inflammatory as well as aiding in bone and collagen health. The company is Novo Renew, and I talked a little about it yesterday.
Because we sure don’t want THIS to happen, LOL
As a middle aged runner, my knees and joints aren’t what they used to be, so I jumped at the chance to give it a try.
The product contains 8 natural ingredients which include:
Joint and soft tissue protection and maintenance
MSM (calcium fructoborate)
UCII Type 2 Undernatured Collagen
Vitamin D
Immune Modulation
Bromelain
Trypsin
Rutin
I started taking it about a week ago, to give my time to adjust to it before the Gasparilla half marathon which was yesterday, read about it here in case you missed it! I could almost immediately see a difference. The pain in my knees were dramatically less, and I can honestly say I ran the race yesterday, “knee pain” free. That, my friends, is HUGE. So much so, that when the folks at Novo Renew gave me the opportunity to be an affiliate, I decided to JUMP at the chance. My affiliate link can be found HERE! And if you use my link, use the code “Michelle25” and you’ll receive 25% off of your order.
SO, what do you get? For around $29.00 you get a month’s supply of supplements. The daily dose is 2 capsules per day, (which are very easy to swallow) with food. Novo Renew suggests taking with breakfast or lunch, as many people feel an energy boost after taking Novo. Too easy, right!!!??? Think of all of the money you’ve spent on NSAID’s which have terrible side effects such as high blood pressure, kidney damage and severe GI problems. Here is what it would cost for you to buy all of the supplements in Novo separately, which shows $29.00 is a great price!
Collagen UC-II-60 capsules, $22 Boswellia Serrata-60 capsules, $16 Vitamin D-60 capsules, $4 Bromelain-60 capsules, 16 MSM (methylsulfonylmethane)-60 capsules, $8 Fruitex B (calcium fructoborate)-60 capsules, $12 Rutin-60 capsules, $12 Trypsin-60 capsules, $18
Total=$108 (The prices above represent an average price for each of these natural supplements. There may be slightly cheaper options – and there are also much more expensive options – for each.)
Lastly, they offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so you REALLY can’t go wrong!!! What are you waiting for? Click HERE and don’t forget to use Michelle25 at check out to get your 25% off (which is the $29 price)!!!
Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions. If I don’t know the answer, I will make sure to find the answer for you ASAP. Also, please share with anyone you may know that is suffering from knee/joint issues. Thanks!!
Do you have knee/joint pain? What do you currently take for the pain? Would you be willing to try something all natural? If so, please click the link above.
Cheers,
Michelle

My husband I decided shortly after running the Disney wine and dine half marathon that we wanted to run another half. We hadn’t properly trained for that half due to good old general life, so we thought, “Let’s do it right this time.” We signed up for the Gasparilla half marathon and started training shortly there after. I had a good 6 or 7 weeks of training until NYE came, and I came down with a 5 week case of bronchitis. I only made it to a 9 mile long run, and I was nervous going in to this race.
We went out to eat with some of our neighborhood runners last night, and after several hiccups in the evening, we didn’t get home until 10 PM. Not ideal when we still had to finish laying our stuff out for the race, AND we had a 3:30 wake up call this morning.
But, we got our outfits laid out, and the morning went off without a hitch. I took my Novorenew (get yours by using discount code of Michelle25 at check out; click link) which I’ve found to help my knee and joint pain tremendously since I’ve started taking it!!! I highly recommend it. We arrived at the convention center within 45 minutes, and had plenty of time to park, apply sunscreen, and do last minute adjustments before meeting up with our neighbors who were also running the race.
Our sub-2 neighbors took off for their corral, and we went to ours to line up to start. I had already given my blessing to my husband to run his own race, so shortly after the start gun went off an we made it about a quarter of a mile in, and he smiled and waved and I was running my own race.
I’ve gone back and forth with solo running, sometimes loving it, and sometimes hating it because I get stuck inside my own head when I am alone, and every now and then I can’t get unstuck. Today, thankfully, wasn’t that day. While I am not the runner I once was, and running in Florida heat is rough, I know eventually I’ll get my speed back.
The race was well organized, had some great spots for spectators, and I even got the high five Meb at around the 8 mile mark, as well as getting a photo with him at the end. Official finish time was 2:31 which is far from my best, but definitely not my worst.
Here’s some photos from the day!!
