Still Movin’

Hey gang!!

I’m happy to say that I’ve been doing well with both my exercise, and eating over the last two weeks. Previously I spoke about refocusing for the summer and I feel like I am doing a decent job. While it’s been too darn hot outside to run, (temps in the high 90’s with a gazillion % humidity and real feel temps of the 105’s), I’ve done T25 work out videos twice this week, and have been great about doing my planks/core work outs as well. I even did the T25 lower body workout yesterday, and I can’t help but to give credit to Novo Renew and the amazing all natural ingredients it contains to help muscle recovery and joint health. Six months ago, I would have never attempted lunges or squats!! Click the link to try it out, and use my code Michelle25 at checkout to save…buy two bottles and shipping is FREE!

My new job is going well so far! I had zero training, so every day is a new adventure. My biggest struggle has been that I am not used to a “desk” job, so getting my steps in every day is a struggle for the first time since I can remember. I’ve been short a couple thousand most days, so I need to work on that issue. But, I have been getting GREAT compliments on my Stitch Fix tops that I got last week, so I am already looking forward to next month’s fix!!! Click the link to check it out!!! You won’t be sorry – they’ve got such cute items tailored just for you!!

Lastly, I am still struggling with the loss of my pup, Sammy, 13 weeks ago. I think this week is extra hard as my husband is gone for Army training…:(

Stitch fix thoughts and more of course

Hey gang!!! I may have mentioned my new job once or twice…I started this week!!! It’s in the Laboratory Administration side of the lab, which is something I’ve wanted to move in to since graduating with my MBA in Healthcare management, back in 2012. I am literally pinching myself as I learn my new roles and responsibilities, and the fact my upper management believes in me this much is humbling. I pray I don’t disappoint them…

Also, I got my first Stitch Fix Box this weekend!!! A couple of the tops were on point, (the White one, and the Navy Blue one with flowers), and I LOVED the shoes, but they were a little pricey to justify so I sent them back…while I did get a promotion career wise, I did not get pay increase so I still have to watch my pennies.

Lastly, my hubby and I have had checkups finally…while we’re both in good health/good weight (give or take a few lbs.), our cholesterol levels are a bit high. BOOH…as one who’s never had any major health issues other than depression and migraines (both of which have now been controlled with exercise, diet, and all natural supplements, this was a kicker. That said, we’re going to monitor what we eat closer, and work that much harder to lose our last 5-10 lbs. Gotta love being in our mid 40’s! LOL!!

Have you suffered any health changes as you’ve aged? What is your favorite store to shop in, that is affordable?

I hope you all have a good week!!

Refocusing for the summer

My running has been on the back burner for the last month or so…it’s not because my wonky knees for once (thanks to Novo Renew)!!!! Click the link for more info and use my discount code Michelle 25 to save.

It’s because 1. I live in Florida, and Florida summers are brutal in regards to outdoor activities, and 2. Focusing on changing my career has been my top priority. I officially start my new job on Monday but have been transitioning in over the last week or so, learning things as I go.

And with this new job, means I need to actually look presentable in the morning. I’ve folded up my scrubs and they now reside in the back of my closet. Buying a business casual wardrobe is crazy expensive, and it will take me a while to have everything I need. But each pay day I buy one or two items, and eventually I won’t have to wear the same thing repeatedly in a two week time frame, LOL. Today I decided to sign up for Stitch Fix and can’t wait to get my first box next week. I was a little concerned about the prices I’ve heard others pay in the past, but saw you could choose less expensive price ranges, YAY!!!

What are you biggest challenges getting your workouts in during the summer? Have you ever used a styling service?

Cheers,

Michelle

My weekend in pictures.

This past weekend I traveled home for my nephews graduation. As much as I love Florida, Chicago will always be my home away from home. The weekend was filled with fun and family and

it was so great spending time with my oldest daughter who stayed up in IL. Here are a few pictures.

Where do you call home? I’m originally from Minnesota but it’s been 28 years since I’ve lived there.

Cheers,

Michelle

One month

It’s hard to believe it’s been a month since Sammy passed away. I’ve committed myself to living a better life for him, because he would’ve wanted that for me. With a real feel of 87 degrees outside tonight, I decided the run/walk method was the way to go. I ran more and a tad faster than Monday so I’ll take it. I’m so thankful for Novo Renew and my renewed joints and muscles. See link in my bio if you’re interested and use my code Michelle25 at checkout to save. Who’s movin’ today!??

Cheers!

Monday

I’m still having a hard time since Sammy passed almost a month ago. I don’t sleep well and the physical ache in my chest hasn’t lessened. But it’s time to shed the five lbs I’ve gained and get back at it. With Florida summer in full force already, I took it easy. I walked the first half and ran/walked the last half. Miles are miles!!! I’m happy to report my knees and hips are still feeling great thanks to @novorenew Happy Monday!!! #monday #mondaymotivation #running #instarunners #training #novorenew #runjoyfully #recovernaturally #keepmovinforward #womensrunningcommunity

Rough times.

Tonight I was blessed to spend the evening with a life long friend. A friend that shares in all my joys and sorrows. A friend that listens to every aspect of my life, one that laughs with my joyous moments and one that tears up hearing about my struggles with losing my Sammy. I am forever grateful for the lifelong friends I’ve made during my Air Force days and in my life in general. Tonight’s plank is dedicated to @kandice73 and our amazing friendship. I even added in 70 crunches. Cheers, y’all!
