Wishing you all a very happy and safe 4th of July! It’s for sure my favorite holiday!!!
Happy birthday, America!!!

How are you celebrating? We’re going to the neighborhood pool, then having a friend over for dinner and having some firework fun. I’ll post some pictures, later!
Cheers!

30 years ago, today, I stepped on to a Greyhound bus to start Air Force basic training, and my life was forever changed. I served for 20 years, and miss it every day.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you all had a fantastic day!!! I’m so happy it’s the weekend, I don’t know about you!! Tonight’s workout was 3 sets of 30 reps-biceps and shoulders. 4 set of 30-crunches and my daily plank, ANDDDD my first mini long run. No, 4 miles isn’t considered long, but it is for me where I’m at in my pre-training phase so I’m pretty pleased.
Any big plans for the weekend? We’re keeping a close eye on hurricane Elsa…🌀😬🏃🏻♀️

Cheers!

Who’s with me?!? I think we could all use more of these people in our lives!!
Cheers!

Running:
I actually ran today, and it didn’t suck…I had to stop a couple of times to catch my breath, and my goal was 25 minutes, which I achieved. Also…I did a thing…The hubby, my youngest daughter, and I are signed up for the Gasparilla half marathon in Tampa FL. It will be my first live race in 2 years and I am terrified and stoked all at once, LOL.

Recipes:
Dinner is usually pretty simple these days, but that doesn’t mean it can’t taste good. Tonight we had good ole canned green beans (beans are the only vegetable/legume I will buy canned), doctored up with some garlic, salt and pepper-let simmer for 20 minutes to get the “canned” taste cooked out, and add crispy bacon at the end. We always have microwaveable brown rice/quinoa in the pantry, which I add a pat of butter, garlic powder, salt, pepper and a drizzle of avocado oil and garnish with fresh cut scallions. Lastly we had sautéed shrimp, which I patted dry, and seasoned with some Cajun seasoning and cooked in a screaming hot pan with butter for maybe 1 minute per side as they were precooked.

Real life adventures:
The world seems so full of cruelty, hate, and overall negative people these days…its honestly started to wear on me. So in efforts to try and put forth some positivity, I have made a daily goal of doing something kind for someone every single day. So today I emailed our lawn service, thanking them for going above and beyond when they trimmed our yard yesterday. They not only trimmed between our Oak and Crepe Myrtle trees, but they actually trimmed a lot of the overgrown branches on the Oak tree. I also asked them to pass my kudos on to management, and the customer service representative that got back to me seemed truly touched.

Are you running any live races this year, or have you already? How do you keep weeknight meals simple? Tell me the last kind thing you did….didn’t it make you feel good?
Cheers!

We’ve got some crazy weather blowing over, so I’m anticipating a migraine. Decided to take a rest day, so my daily plank is all I’ve got today. And we had bacon (my favorite) and eggs for dinner…and it was so yummy I forgot to take a picture.
Then I received this beautiful comment on my Facebook page. It truly warmed my heart.

It’s the simple things, right? How was your day? Any crazy weather where you live?
Cheers,
Michelle

I’m not sure about everyone else but turning my mind off at night can be hard. Cheers to sweet dreams to everyone!!!

Happy Monday, everyone! Well, when you’ve only got about 30 minutes to squeeze in a workout, you do your best!
Weights, 3 sets/20 each:
Triceps
Biceps
Shoulders
100 crunches/daily plank
20 minutes walking
How was your day?

How was your Monday? How do you adjust your workout when time is an issue?
Cheers!
Michelle

Have a great week, everyone!!!!
Cheers!
