So it’s Friday night and I am ready to party…NOT. This darn cold has set me back nearly a week, and it’s taken everything in my power not to sleep 24-7. I called in sick on Wednesday, which is something I never do, and the last two days I coughed nearly non-stop. From what I hear, this cold is lasting up to three weeks, and I just don’t have time for that…I’ve got a half marathon to train for!!!
But the reality of it all, is that I shouldn’t complain about having a silly cold or my lapse in training. See, my neighbor lost her husband just a few short days before Christmas at the young age of 43, as he died suddenly in his sleep. He is leaving behind a wife and three children, and while we weren’t super close to them, we did spend some time with them over this last year and the loss is palpable in my neighborhood. Life. Is. Short.
So sleep in if that’s your fancy.
Tell those you care about, that you love them. Don’t just assume they know.
Pursue your dreams, and never settle.
Eat that slice of cake, or have that basket of French fries.
Live.
Keep Movin’ Forward.
Have you ever lost someone suddenly? What is your guilty pleasure?
Cheers,
Michelle
My guilty pleasure is Key Lime Pie. Yes, I lost my Mom in a matter of 5 days. It was 21 years ago and it took several years to even accept it was real. She was only 68. Super hard, but with God’s help, I got through it. I’m so sorry for your friend and the ones left behind. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
My family lost a very close friend this past August in a car accident and it is still tough. Good news in that, I guess, is that it made us all realize just how short life is and that none of us are guaranteed tomorrow so we need to live fully today.
Guilty pleasure? Funny you should ask, I have a post about that very thing set to go up tomorrow morning.

Michelle ! I hope you feel good soon , take good care of yourself so you get right back on track !!
I’m sorry for your neighbor… it’s nearly unbelievable how we can lose people just like that. I did lose someone who is really close to my heart due to suicide.. that’s the thing about death, it always comes uninvited. But it also teaches to always live not just exist.
Sending positive loving thoughts your way xx
Love !!

Sorry for the loss of your neighbor. Rest well Michelle. Colds or flus or coughs are not to be trivialised. Do not exercise till you are better as we had some cases in Singapore whereby the athlete drops dead. Doctors always say do not exercise when ill.

Unfortunately yes. Lost my partner and mum suddenly within 6 weeks of each other. It makes you realise that life is short and don’t assume you have plenty of time to do the stuff you really want to do. Guilty pleasure has to be those few moments when your kids in in bed and you get the TV to yourself with the biggest most unhealthy cake I can find.

I am just getting over the same cold and it has been really miserable. Horrid coughing. It will probably hang on for 3 weeks but you’ll start feeling way better before that.
