What can I say?

Hey y’all. I’m still alive, I promise. But with a teenager with an active social life yet no license quite yet, and trying to juggle work, housework, and keeping my youngest daughter happy I’ve had little time to write. But I wanted to pop in and say hi, and say that I hope everyone is doing well. My running is pretty much nill but I’ve been daily planking and strength training a few times each week.

My biggest milestone this week, was that I let my oldest take the train to the city today with her group of friends for an afternoon at the beach. Those that know me well, know I’m a spaz when it comes to my kids. So this first step of letting my junior find her way in life was huge for me.

Other than that were plugging along. Each day is one day closer to my hubby returning home. Today was beautiful weather so I sidelined the housework for a couple hours on my deck. I also cooked an amazing pork loin for dinner.

I can admit while I’m not looking forward to returning to work tomorrow, I can say it’s one day closer.

How was your weekend?

Cheers!

Michelle

  1. Glad you are still there and plugging along. We’re still here too…enjoying your blog. 🙂 That pork roast looks very delicious!

  2. Hi! Glad you are doing well albeit busy.

Are you planking in a dress ; )?

Wow…riding the train-that is huge..good for you and for her 😉

I let me son walk home by himself this week. Usually an adult will meet him half way. He starts 3rd grade next year so we thought we would see how he ( well really me-lol) felt. He did great 😉

I ran a humid 10k on Saturday in Annapolis with my sister. She broke her arm 2 weeks ago and had surgery 1 week ago…she couldnt get her money back so she decided to run it. I ran with her to protect her arm from getting bumped. We finished strong 😉

    Have a good week!

  3. I started Pure Barre a few weeks ago and finally did my first plank last Saturday, and my first side plank on Thursday. I won’t tell you how long I held them as that is a shame, lol. Glad things are moving along for you Michelle!

  4. I check on IG/Twitter to make sure you’re still alive – so just make sure you keep at least posting there every so often! lol

The pork loin looks soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!

  5. Oh, yes, the train trip to the city! We’ve done that a few times. I won’t lie, I’m actually enjoying having my Matthew at home. But yet in a strange twist, I feel so bad for him because he’s missing out on all that fun stuff with his friends.

It’s not easy being a mom!

  6. I’m sure you daughter is very responsible and everything went well. Im sure she appreciated you letting her take the train w some friends. I know how “uncool” it is for mom to drive us around at her age….haha.
    That dinner looks so tasty.

  7. So glad the train trip to the city/beach went well! My niece is the same age and just took on that same adventure. A nail biter for us for sure. Yummy pork loin!

  8. You’re so formal – planking in a dress! LOL, but I see on a previous comment that you were on your way out to dinner. Good for you for not skipping your planking that day! 🙂

I remember those days of firsts with my sons during their teenage years. One of the hardest was watching my oldest drive off for the first time with my youngest in the front seat beside him…
