My name is Michelle and I am a retired Air Force Master Sergeant. I have found a passion for running, cooking, writing, photography and all things that move my love for life! I've ran 3 full marathons, with a PR of 4:25, and 17 half marathons with a PR of 2:00:11 (yup-missed sub 2 by 11 seconds, lol). Thanks for joining me on my journey! Very true! I was at the VA Hospital yesterday for an doc appt for me and my husband was there for support. We are both vets. He began talking to a man in the orthopedic area in a wheelchair. He was a marine and they began swapping stories. I was very nervous about my appointment and I felt frustrated. Afterwards, my husband said to me, “But it took your mind off what was going on…” Yeah, it did, just like a compliment, so I will try to be more outgoing with people in doc waiting rooms. Maybe! I can try!

My husband kind of complimented the marine on his background prompting a response and conversation. I really admire his ability to do that and it did return me to normal, kind of.

I hope your appt went well. I work at the VA and we love our veterans.

Thank you! It did. I visited Orthopedics as I have bone on bone in my right hip. They scheduled some type of gel to be applied the end of May and are trying to schedule me for surgery. It might take awhile but hopefully someone might cancel. Thank you! We have always been treated well. My husband has metastized cancer and has been treated since 2015, discovery.
