Little back story for you all-Running used to be something I truly loved. It was “freeing” me and was my therapy as I transitioned from 20 years of military life to the civilian world. I had a tribe of running friends and it was effortless to run 6-8 miles. Fast forward five years and OOOF. Running is hard. This run didn’t feel good until mile 3. But I’m not going to give up and quit. I may be slow as molasses but praying I find my groove again.
Have you ever had to take a break from something you loved, and had a hard time making a comeback? How did you handle it?
Cheers!!
Michelle
My comebacks always require lots of visualization! Then I feel more primed!! Happy New Year Michelle!

I just started training martial arts again after YEARS, and it’s going to take a lot of patience for myself. I’m trying to focus on what I can do and how happy I am to be back instead of what I used to be able to do.

My big problem is that I jump fully in way too soon. Should slowly build up but the temptation is to immediately get back to your previous level.

That’s exactly what I’m doing! I was going to walk tonight but my knee is talking to me so I’ll do some weights and core later!!
