Happy Monday!!

I miss you all! I need to make more time for writing!!

Cheers!

What I miss.

I miss writing. I miss having great ideas and things to talk about. I miss running in the summer. Yup. It’s still summer in Florida. I miss cooking. I still cook…but I hate my electric stove and I’d much rather be outside.

But…I love Florida. I love that nearly every weekend feels like a vacation. Even on weekends when my garage door breaks and it costs 200 bucks to fix.

Here’s a little peek at our weekend.

Happy Monday, y’all!

Cheers!

Michelle

Thoughts for Thursday

This is something I shared on my personal Facebook page today, and it was on my heart to share.

Thoughts for today…

Truth be told, the last few years have been hard. Despite all the happy Disney and beach pictures we like to share, our family has endured a lot. Deployments, teenage years, moving across the country, new jobs, more new jobs, and the loss of our Sammy to say the least. And most importantly, our parents are undergoing some pretty major health issues and to say it hasn’t affected us would be a lie. My hair has literally thinned to nearly nothing due to the stressThoughts for today…

And most importantly, our parents are undergoing some pretty major health issues and to say it hasn’t affected us would be a lie. My hair has literally thinned to nearly nothing due to the stress and I usually wear it in a clip to hide it because I’m embarrassed and hate when people ask me why it’s so thin…but last night Julie, my hairdresser and friend took two hours to pamper me, and I actually wore my hair down for the second time in gosh-28 years. While I’ll be forever self conscious about it, she helped me forget about my troubles for a bit.

It goes to show that life is short-be kind, make someone feel good when you can, and never pass up a moment to tell someone you love them. and I usually wear it in a clip to hide it because I’m embarrassed and hate when people ask me why it’s so thin…but last night Julie Kyle took two hours to pamper me, and I actually wore my hair down for the second time in gosh-28 years. Remembering

I’ll never forget this day, 18 years ago today. I was active duty Air Force and part of the Blood donor center team. We were activated and collected hundred of units of blood for those in need. May we never forget the terrible loss of this day, as well as remember how our country came together and united as one.

Reminder

I’ve missed writing, and cooking. Sadly it’s hard to balance the creative and careers sides of life.

But for now I’ve got a family to provide for so all I can do is my best. ❤️❤️

Cheers! I hope you’ve all been well.

Not a Senior, yet…

So this past weekend I took my daughter to see the movie, “Where did you go, Bernadette?” While purchasing our tickets, I asked the man behind the counter for two tickets for the movie. He looked at me and asked, “One Senior, and one Adult?” I looked behind me for said senior, and I asked him to repeat himself. He said again, “One Senior, and one Adult?” I was taken aback (I am only 46 years old), and said, “I’m not Senior!!” “Oh,” he said…and quickly printed off two tickets.

With tears in my eyes, my daughter I walked in to the theater. She could see I was upset, and wrapped her arms around me. “Let’s go find a manager,” she quickly exclaimed. “No, no, honey,” its fine I said…”I’m not going to a manager just because I have hurt feelings.”

We went and got our snacks and drinks and headed in to the movie. I was still visibly upset, but tried to brush it off and watch the movie. The movie was perfect for what I was feeling, as Bernadette struggled with losing herself to her family vs. her creativity and it really hit home for me. I think most middle aged women have dealt with losing themselves in one way or another, and being a full time working Mom/wife I know I’ve lost a lot of the “fun” and “creative” sides of myself.

That being said, I’ve decided to make more time for myself and the things I love (this blog being one of them!!) and with our rainy summer months drawing to an end come September, my goal is to ramp up my running/walking with the aid of the wonderful supplements I take, Novo Renew. These supplements are all natural, and have a money back guarantee. Click this link to give them a try.

While I may be middle aged, I am not even close to being a senior, nor do I feel like despite my age creeping up on me. I wish people would really think about things they say before saying them, and while I may have been a Senior to that (probably yet don’t want to assume HAHA) high school student, him saying so sure didn’t make me feel very good.

Has anyone ever said anything so thoughtless to you? How did you respond? How do you manage “real life” and still doing the things you love?

Sunday!!!

Hey guys I’m still here. Between catching a cold and my daughter visiting for 9 days, I haven’t had a chance to write the last few weeks

Just when I thought I was back in the swing-well-good ole life happens. Between that and the horrible rain we’ve had here in Florida my workouts have been slim pickings.

I’ve gained 7 1/2 lbs back-of the ten I lost over the last year, but after a week back I have thankfully already dropped 2 1/2 lbs.

Good ole Novo Renew my knees and muscles are still happy. I’m planking almost daily again. Use my code Michelle25 to save!!

Here’s a few pics from over the last few weeks.

Cheers!!

Still Movin’

Hey gang!!

I’m happy to say that I’ve been doing well with both my exercise, and eating over the last two weeks. Previously I spoke about refocusing for the summer and I feel like I am doing a decent job. While it’s been too darn hot outside to run, (temps in the high 90’s with a gazillion % humidity and real feel temps of the 105’s), I’ve done T25 work out videos twice this week, and have been great about doing my planks/core work outs as well. I even did the T25 lower body workout yesterday, and I can’t help but to give credit to Novo Renew and the amazing all natural ingredients it contains to help muscle recovery and joint health. Six months ago, I would have never attempted lunges or squats!! Click the link to try it out, and use my code Michelle25 at checkout to save…buy two bottles and shipping is FREE!

My new job is going well so far! I had zero training, so every day is a new adventure. My biggest struggle has been that I am not used to a “desk” job, so getting my steps in every day is a struggle for the first time since I can remember. I’ve been short a couple thousand most days, so I need to work on that issue. But, I have been getting GREAT compliments on my Stitch Fix tops that I got last week, so I am already looking forward to next month’s fix!!! Click the link to check it out!!! You won’t be sorry – they’ve got such cute items tailored just for you!!

Lastly, I am still struggling with the loss of my pup, Sammy, 13 weeks ago. I think this week is extra hard as my husband is gone for Army training…:(

Miss ya, buddy

How are you all doing? How do you keep active during inclement weather? What is your favorite place to shop? (Mine is consignment shops!!)

Cheers,

Michelle

Stitch fix thoughts and more of course

Hey gang!!! I may have mentioned my new job once or twice…I started this week!!! It’s in the Laboratory Administration side of the lab, which is something I’ve wanted to move in to since graduating with my MBA in Healthcare management, back in 2012. I am literally pinching myself as I learn my new roles and responsibilities, and the fact my upper management believes in me this much is humbling. I pray I don’t disappoint them…

Also, I got my first Stitch Fix Box this weekend!!! A couple of the tops were on point, (the White one, and the Navy Blue one with flowers), and I LOVED the shoes, but they were a little pricey to justify so I sent them back…while I did get a promotion career wise, I did not get pay increase so I still have to watch my pennies.

Lastly, my hubby and I have had checkups finally…while we’re both in good health/good weight (give or take a few lbs.), our cholesterol levels are a bit high. BOOH…as one who’s never had any major health issues other than depression and migraines (both of which have now been controlled with exercise, diet, and all natural supplements, this was a kicker. That said, we’re going to monitor what we eat closer, and work that much harder to lose our last 5-10 lbs. Gotta love being in our mid 40’s! LOL!!

Have you suffered any health changes as you’ve aged? What is your favorite store to shop in, that is affordable?

I hope you all have a good week!!
