Happy Monday!!! My first run outside in ages, and I won’t lie-it wasn’t easy. I ran the first two miles and ran/walked the last mile. Felt great to be outside again, but I’m sure rusty.
How was your day?

Cheers!

"The difference between a jogger and a runner is that a jogger runs to stay in shape, while a runner will run even if it kills them"
Welcome to my mind. Watch the first step, it's a doozy.
Nice running. Had that alligator gotten after you, I bet you would have run faster. 😉 (Not that you needed to. You’re faster than me.)

Awe thanks! My fast running days are far behind me. I’m just thankful to be moving.

“Fast” is a relative term. I wish I could sustain your pace.

There was several walking breaks. I need to build my endurance up, but thanks!!

I almost always take some walk breaks. Especially on the “longer” runs. It has kept me from being sore and I think that is a good thing for me, mentally anyway.

Agreed. Although sometimes the walk breaks mess me up mentally. I need to get over that.

I get mentally messed up if I think I HAVE to run the entire way. Giving myself permission to walk gets me out there.

Makes sense! We’re all wired differently for sure. Walking screws me mentally but I’ve embraced it with age.

I know a lot of people that don’t think you are “really” running if you walk part of it. I don’t agree, obviously. And neither does Jeff Galloway and all of his followers. LOL I’m glad you have embraced it now and at least don’t think you have failed if you take a few walking breaks here and there.

Oh for sure. Definitely not a fail, just messes with my head. But right now I need to do it. So walking breaks happen lol.

Congratulations Michelle! I am in the walking category now. Too much damage to my knees. I love to be outside.

Thank you! I definitely do more walking than running.
