Thanks for those that prayed for my Sammy. He passed in his sleep last night.

Here’s some of my favorite photos of him:

I’ll be processing and grieving the loss of this amazing creature who loved me more than I’ve ever been loved. I’m just not sure how I’ll get through this, but I know I will be ok eventually.

      1. I know it is. We lost a dog we had for 16 years a few years ago. Three of my kids didn’t remember life before her. I couldn’t believe how hard it was. Good news is the hurt isn’t permanent.

    It really is so hard, but you’re right, you will make your way through this. In your own time and you own way — there is no timetable for grieving. My heart definitely still aches for Giz, and I still think I see him or feel him sometimes — it’s been almost 3 months.

    I am more at peace with his passing knowing that he had a full, long, wonderful life. I hope that helps a little when you think about Sammy.
