Running, Recipes, and Real life adventures!

We definitely dodged a bullet in the Tampa Bay Area. While yes we had heavy wind/rain, we didn’t have near the damage that our friends down south had. Thanks for the support and prayers during this time. We are truly blessed. It was a long night with howling winds and sideways rain, but it could have been much worse.

Oof what a day/night. But as with everything, storms often make us stronger.

So far we’re safe and sound. High winds and rain, but knock on wood we’re ok. Hope my fellow Florida friends are safe!!!

The family that cooks and Hurricane preps together, stays together. I’ve not been myself lately, I’ll admit it. Thankfully I’ve got my family and hobbies to fall back on. I made a delicious pork roast today, cooked it low and slow for 4+ hours at 250 degrees. Sides of yellow cauliflower purée, and savory sweet potatoes finished with bacon salt (yes, that’s a real thing) and micro greens. Dinner is served!
We also spent a good hour after work prepping the house for Hurricane Ian. We’re as ready as we’ll ever be!!
