Deployment thoughts, weekly wrap up

Weekly wrap up! 10 weeks down!

It’s time for the weekly wrap!!! My week was busy as per usual, but overall a really good week. We are 16 days in to our monthly plank-a-day challenge and my longest has been just over 4 minutes! It’s fun seeing so many pages doing fun challenges!

Here’s my run down…

Monday Ran 2.5 miles, planked 3:01

Tuesday Ran 2.25 miles, planked 3:13 and did my killer arm workout.

Wednesday planked 4:22

Thursday ran 1.1 miles, planked 2:02

Friday planked 3:11 and did my killer arm workout

Saturday planked 3:06 with my mine, and this was even AFTER her amazing dance recital!

Sunday planked 3:14 and did my killer arm workout

LOVE this workout.

Thursday we had band open house (she’s decided on the saxophone, YAY!) for my little one, who isn’t so little anymore.  I just finished registering her for 5th grade. This will be the last year I have an elementary school student. Cry. Did I mention my oldest will be taking her driver’s test within the next couple weeks? Double cry! LOL

too much cuteness here.

Friday was dress rehearsal for her, so it was a mad rush to get home on time, get changed and her in full costume but we made it!

Saturday we had her recital, and she all of the girls were just amazing. She was sad her Daddy couldn’t make it, but he was with us in spirit.

So while my workouts aren’t the best in regards to length, I AM pleased I am really getting into a groove with my schedule. Tomorrow is the 10 week mark of my husband’s deployment, and I can happily say we’re a 5th of the way done! ❤

Linking up with Holly and Tricia for the weekly wrap up! Please check ‘em out!!!!

How was your week? Do you plank?

Cheers!

  1. WOW – way to hit it out of the ballpark with those planks, especially your 4:22! So cool that your daughter chose the saxophone for band and crazy that your son is taking his driver’s test soon. Your daughter looks so adorable in her recital picture, and indeed, Daddy was there wholeheartedly in spirit. =) Yay for being a fifth of the way through your deployment – you are getting closer and closer!!!

      1. So sorry, Michelle! One of my best friends has a son who is also taking his driver’s test soon and we’ve been talking about it a lot, so I’ve clearly got that on the brain. My apologies!!!

  2. You are a planking beast!!! I can’t imagine holding a plank for 4 minutes. Whew. Awesome job! I plank for 6 minutes BUT break it up into 1-minute increments. Planking has helped my running so much – no more hip pain!

Your daughter is so adorable. You are/should be one very proud mommy! My oldest is old enough for “teenyball” (pre T-ball) this year and I’m already proud and he hasn’t even started yet 🙂 I can’t believe the years go so fast…

    1. Thanks, Amy!!! After 2 minutes I’ll go back and forth for 30 seconds or so doing side planks. I think that helps me get a longer time!! My longest has been 7 minutes, but again, I switch from side to side to help break it up, all the while still “planking.” Aw T-ball, tooooo cute!

  3. It’s so great to have another driver in the family. Scary, until you know that you can trust them, but also liberating. You can send her off to the shops to pick up stuff. She can pick up her little sister. There are so many trips that you’re not going to have to take any more.

  4. Hooray for 10 weeks already! I hate to wish away time but in this case I’ll do it. : ) You are killing your workouts! I am right there with you registering a girl for 5th grade. It all flies so fast. Sigh.

10 weeks already, I know it probably feels like it forever to you, but your weeks are so busy, that should help it pass.
Your little one is so cute, i am trying to picture her holding that big saxophone 🙂

  7. I plank on and off but not daily. You sound much more upbeat than a few weeks ago. Maybe it just takes some time to get into a groove….
kids grow up way too fast. Mine will be a senior and sophomore next year. How did that happen ?

  8. How lovely your daughter looks in her dance costume. All grown up too! I haven’t reached the 4 minute plank yet. I’m working on it though. I know you are counting every second — but a 5th of the way is fantastic! So much closer than before. 😉 Your arms look fantastic in your photos, by the way. Thanks for linking with us Michelle!

  9. You’re doing a wonderful job with your planks! I need to get back in a routine of doing a plank a day. After a month challenge I could tell the difference. Congrats to your daughter on joining the band! I have so many great memories of my time in the band. Hope she enjoys it as much as I did.
