Sparking joy

I was able to spend the day with my daughter today at the pool again. She’s always been obsessed with mermaids, so when she was able to use the mermaid tail at the pool today, she was elated. And to see an almost 15 year old smiling from ear to eat like a little kid, truly made my day. She told me it “sparked joy” in her life and it just warmed my heart.

I’m going to take a cue from her, and do more things that spark joy in my life, too.

Who’s with me?!

Cheers!

Michelle

  1. You know, being an adult means you spend a lot of your time doing things you have to do rather than what you want to — but so many, as I can see, just refuse to allow themselves to do things that’re fun. It becomes foreign to adults for some reason. I don’t get it…

I (sort of) joke that I’m still 5. Because even though I’m an ‘old man’, I’m a 5-year-old ‘old man’. It shouldn’t — but often does — take the reminder from our kids how life could be experienced.

Did you give the mermaid tail a go? 😀

    1. Gosh you are so right. It goes along with the celebration of being busy. Folks that literally can only list their busy schedules when you ask them what they are up to on the weekends.
Not me. I enjoy as much downtime as I can on the weekends.
I actually did try the tail once before. I nearly drowned lol.

      1. I’m with you… proper recharging can’t happen if you’re constantly on the go. Doing nothing is underrated.

Haha, I wouldn’t have the guts to try the tail, I don’t think… not only would that be traumatizing to anyone around to see, I would also likely drown.
