Week 1 of marathon full marathon training, sorta…

This weekly wrap up will be quick, because my hubby just got home from training THREE hours earlier than normal.  #winning

Last week, I managed to work out 5/7 days.  I ran 3 days, did 2 cardio workouts, and 2 strength training workouts.  Today was my first official long run, of which I ran 6.14 miles and felt like I could’ve kept going for several more miles.  WINNING.

Ninja? HEHE!

After my run, I made my favorite post run meal.  EGGS!

It was hard to not have bacon too, but I am determined NOT to gain weight this time around.

When the hubby texted at 2:30 saying he was getting out at around 4:00 P.M. I decided to make a nice Sunday Supper of baked Salmon, Sweet potato puree` and roasted broccoli.  Easy, elegant, and healthy!

I ❤ Salmon. I could eat it daily.

Hubby is almost out of the shower, and I am hanging on to every moment, so with that I bid you all goodnight!!  I’m linking up with Holly and Tricia for the weekly wrap up!  Please head over and check out the link up!

Are you training for any races right now?  What’s your favorite post run meal?  Do you gain weight during marathon training?

Have a great week, y’all!

Cheers!

❤ Michelle

  1. Your food looks SO YUMMY! 😀
I love my eggs runny like that also.

Yes! I am training for a 10K in April (the Rockdale Ramblin 10K run ), the Starved Rock Country Half Marathon in May…. and the Naperville Marathon (with my Sole sister) in October! 😀

I love to get some carbs post run, so scrambled eggs (full of broccoli!) and toast with coconut oil is my typical favorite.

  2. I’m with you girl! I love salmon and could eat it every day! Great job on your workouts, that is a great mix too. I did get in 3 runs during the week, only one strength training session and I skipped the Saturday run but I make sure to walk at least 5000 steps before breakfast. Got a nice week coming up I hope and I also hope to run a 10K next weekend! Have a great weekend and I’m very glad you make a point to participate in the link up! Enjoy your time with the hubs!

  3. Love your training week. You kicked butt for sure. And being so cold, I don’t know how you do it. I’m glad you had a few extra hours with Brian. Enjoy every minute. Have a great night! ❤️❤️❤️

  4. You had a great week! What race are you training for? Eggs with cheese is my favorite post long run meal. Plus coffee. Your supper looks delicious…three of my favorites. It’s colorful and healthy too. Enjoy the extra time with your husband and thanks for linking with us. Enjoy your week, Michelle!

  5. Glad your run went well!! We all love those kinds of runs 😉 My favorite post-run meal is dependent on the time of day…I LOVE scrambled eggs (with cheddar cheese, not American) or a big plate of pancakes (but I seldom have the time to make them). I also like a bacon cheeseburger (again, with cheddar) 😉

  6. The Salmon looks really good! And such a great job on your training!!
Last time I run was more than 2 years ago when I found out that I was pregnant with my twin girls. I plan to start again this year! So far, I have done some walking and started run-walk routines 😉
And my favorite post run breakfast is fried eggs & ham and toasts with jam 🙂

  7. Ohhh that salmon & sweet potato looked delicious! I love eggs post run as well! I like them sunny side up with some whole grain toast, roasted sweet potatoes or regular potatoes, I’m not fussy + some greens. And of course a big ol’ mug of coffee! Doesn’t get much better than that!

  8. Great job getting your workouts in and eating so healthy! I tend to gain weight in marathon training too so I’m with you on that. Since I’m not eating like a crazy woman right now I’ve managed to stay down a good 3 lbs since my last marathon cycle. It feels pretty awesome to not have the added runger 🙂

  9. You had a great workout week and hooray for hubby getting home early. Totally winning! All the best with your training cycle! Spring seems a million miles away but we all know how time flies.
