Things you may not know about me-Part 1: Things I like…

Yup, it’s that simple.  I have been finding it hard to come up with topics to write about since I’ve taken a break from racing (although that break may end soon…more to follow) other than posting a recipe here and there.  So I am borrowing an idea from my friend Christa at A Voluptuous Mind and make a 2 part post.  One, things I like…Two, you guessed it…things I don’t like!  Just a few random things you may or may not know about me…:-)

Here’s part one of Things you may not know about me!

Things I like!

  • Romance in all forms
  • Surprises
  • the smell of the air on a fall day
  • key lime pie
  • crème brulee’
  • the beach
  • writing
  • lavender
  • the smell of sweat after the 2nd or 3rd mile of my run (don’t judge-I know I’m weird)
  • belly laughs
  • Photography…capturing moments with photography makes me smile
  • dancing
  • hardwood floors and exposed brick
  • honesty
  • fancy restaurants
  • bon-fires
  • music.  all forms.  But especially Frank Sinatra.  I LOVE Frank.
  • wine with friends
  • cooking gadgets-ALL the cooking gadgets!!!
  • massages
  • seeing people enjoy the food I prepare for them
  • that feeling you get when you are no longer runner, but flying…
  • hugs where you don’t feel like you have to let go
  • lunch time walks
  • cold pillows and warm blankets
  • challenging myself to chase my dreams 🙂

These are just a few of my favorite things (now you’ve got the song in your head, don’t you?!)!!!!

What are you favorite things?!  I’d love for you to share a few of them!  ❤

Stay tuned for part 2 of Things you may not know about me…coming soon!

  1. This is a fab list Michelle! I love them all. Can’t wait for your next list. I might do a series of these every now and again because if nothing else, they’re fun! Good luck with your running too, I never really got going but I’ve just joined the gym! xoxo

  2. great list! I would add a cup of my favorite tea in the morning and take away the ‘sweat smell’ lol – but other than that you’ve hit all my favorite things too!

  3. Love this list ❤ I've got some similar tastes too but off the top of my head some of my favorite things are: wine, bunny kisses, cute animal pictures, family dinners, coffee, the crisp smell of fall (pumpkins and apples and spices galore!), and curling up with a good book and hot cocoa in front of a fire in winter!

  4. Yes, I do have that song stuck in my head! I like posts like this because you always learn things you wouldn’t ordinarily know. A few things on my list are: warm doggies, coffee, sunrise, and any body of water.

  5. I really wish I hadn’t read this post before my 37k run. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be singing that song for three and a half hours now.

  6. Great list – thanks for sharing!

It is funny as we get older how joyous these simple things can be – this morning it was the fog-filtered light of my headlamp and 55F temp on my run … last night it was the smells of fall as my wife and I walked our dogs …

Honesty is so huge, and was one of our key lessons with our kids. Start with the truth and it won’t get worse … of course they had to learn the hard way a few times, but it has worked out well in the end!

Now on to the next one 🙂
